Fall Colors 2008

Color Sunday 2008...Grand Mesa National Forrest, Scenic Byway...Colorado Hwy 65. Beautiful colors, clouds and rain made shooting interesting at times. The color this year really seemed amazing, more reds than in the past few years. Also, color is late at lower altitudes... extended color season... SWEET :D

Grand Mesa, 9-29-2008 ... We sat above this area for over an hour waiting for sun to shine on the entire area... nope, more clouds, more wind, rain started falling. Still pretty, but more sun, less wind sure would have been nice.
Grand Mesa, 9-29-2008... view from hwy 65, smog and smoke is horrible, but actually better than it often is... you can actually see the Bookcliff Mountain range that runs north of the Grand Valley (Grand Junction area), and other mountains in the distance.
